And there you have it, folks. Once again and just as predicted, Chris Jericho is the new World Heavyweight Champion and the stage is set for (the babyface) Edge to face him at WrestleMania 26. Of course Edge claims he’ll decide tonight on Raw but seriously, we saw this coming half a year ago! There’s no doubt in the fact that Chris Jericho has been having the most successful time of his life ever since he decided that he was done “entertaining” the fans (or hypocritical glutenous tapeworms, in his own words) and coming up with witty catchphrases. Instead he felt donning expensive suits and using vocabulary so bombastic that it could fry the brains of a Harvard graduate and put Matt Striker to shame was more his thing. And of course, he has managed to bag a bunch of championships along the way, becoming arguably the  most prominent superstar on Raw AND SmackDown!. Ironically, Chris Jericho is still one of the most entertaining superstars in WWE today despite him trying to be the exact opposite! It’s been a while since a Chris Jericho wallpaper was up, so here it is, and just in the nick of time too! A wallpaper featuring the first new World Heavyweight Champion of 2010; Chris Jericho!

PS : At WrestleMania, I’m rooting for Chris Jericho. Being brutally honest, I liked the Rated [R] Superstar when he was sneaky, cunning,  and controversial to the core.  This “new” Edge who comes out and speaks on the behalf of the WWE Universe and starts playing SmackDown!’s “average noble citizen” ….not so much. Rated [PG] Superstar, anybody?

Here’s the poster for WWE Elimination Chamber, previously known for the last decade or so as WWE No Way Out. I guess since the highlights of the night are the Raw / SmackDown! Elimination Chamber matches, WWE decided to just call it that for marketing purposes and to refresh their PPV name list. I’m not digging the poster, though. Looks like something on a Mortal Kombat or some vampire-ish videogame cover (Batista’s eye being weird and all, doesn’t really look like a Chamber he’s looking at.). But I guess this is the poster that’ll stick. Hey, at least it’s Batista. For some reason last year WWE thought it was appropriate to have Vladimir “no-charisma” Kozlov on the final PPV poster before WrestleMania 25! Way to go, geniuses. Compared to that, this one looks pretty decent.

John Morrison is the self-proclaimed ‘next Shawn Michaels’, a moniker that garners a lot of weight. The current Intercontinental Champion is on a light-speed rise to superstardom, and if he keeps his pace and plays his cards right, Morrison could very well be the “new Shawn Michaels”. He’s already one heck of a performer, his in-ring skills are the stuff of the all-time greats, and his name on a matchcard is already motivating buyrates. If there’s anyone you can bet on to lead the future line of WWE superstars, it would be John Morrison. He’s been called the Friday Night Delight, he’s said to be the Shaman of Sexy, but this wallpaper is based on his other nickname, The Guru Of Greatness. Seen here is Morrison in a meditative pose in tune with the elements and energies that allow him to have perfect 8-pack abs, wear fur coats in the summer, have his hair wave in slow motion, and most of all beat Dolph Ziggler for the 50^th time. It’s a shame that Jeff Hardy had to leave WWE during the very peak of his illustrious career, a time when he was called ‘the hottest commodity in WWE right now’ and a time when he was boiling hot with potential. But then again if he had been a part of the company when his home was raided, he’d have been let go by now anyway…which is worse because rehiring him and trusting the ‘daredevil athlete’ with major angles would have been difficult for the company. Anyway, backstage stuff aside, Hardy is an awesome superstar. The personality, the charisma, the work with the facepaint, and the visual impact is what made Jeff Hardy a bigger superstar than anyone would have foreseen and this wallpaper shows you just that! I wouldn’t really call Jeff Hardy a Alumni name but he isn’t signed with any other wrestling organization either so I guess I’ll categorize him under Alumni for now.
