SmackDown! is finally joining the same league as the USA Network…well, technically. WWE superstars on the blue-brand will now emanate from the SyFy network, home to NXT and the now-defunct ECW. More

If there’s one guy who repeats his words more than Mrrrrr.Anderson…Anderson, it’s the current World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger. In all honesty, I thought Swagger was doomed when he started getting his @$$ tossed-out of rings by Santino. And I wasn’t very happy with his push when he won Money In The Bank at WrestleMania either. Thankfully, Jack Swagger has proven me wrong and he seems to have his path cut-out for him. The guy’s doing a good job and if he plays his cards well, he could become a permanent top-rank name. His in-ring skills are fantastic for a guy his size, so pitting him against superstars like The Undertaker doesn’t look awkward. To me it looks like Jack Swagger is heading down the same path as Kurt Angle. In fact, I think he could be our next Kurt Angle. They both excel at amateur wrestling, they use pro-American themes in their personas, they both repeat catchphrase words (It’s True, It’s True / It’s Real, It’s Damn Real / All American, American ), and they’ll always be slightly dorky no matter how much they grow as superstars. The Future Starts Now.
This is it. The superstars you see above will go on to become champions in their own right. Some will rise, others will fall, but no matter what these are the faces that will carry World Wrestling Entertainment into the future as the more veteran superstars take a back seat from their respective spotlights and allow the new generation to pave the way and carve illustrious careers for themselves. Some will try to fill the ‘large shoes’ of those like Shawn Michaels while others will strive to be as good as legends like Bret Hart. Sons will aspire to be better than their iconic fathers while the rest fight and brawl and claw and climb to become the Austins and Rocks of tomorrow’s WWE.

This is a wallpaper that I timed specifically for the end of the year. 2010 looks very promising for WWE (and TNA Wrestling) and fans worldwide are hoping for a new wrestling boom. This wallpaper reflects what may be the new era in wrestling. As we end 2009 and simultaneously leave an entire decade behind us, a new era dawns ahead and promises the rise of many young superstars. But before they reach the top they’ll have to battle the Ortons and the Cenas, the Edges and Jerichos, Undertakers and Shawn Michaels’. It’s up to them to make the next decade their own. It’s a long, winding road ahead for these guys. And their road starts now.
