Championship History Will Be Made.
At least I hope it’ll be made. Let’s be honest. As much as we like Ryback, it isn’t time for him to bag the big one just yet. And as much as we know John Cena will be champion again someday, it isn’t time for him to win the championship back either. This is the era of CM Punk. This is his revolution and the only way he’ll keep his heel heat going is if he continues to reign as our ruthless, tasteless, vile WWE Champion!
Since we’re on the subject of honesty, let’s go ahead and admit that not many fans are really looking forward to Survivor Series. The card looks quite lame with a bunch of rushed matches and feuds that haven’t even started to heat-up yet. I mean R-Truth’s biggest offense towards US Champ, Antonio Cesaro, is a “Knock, Knock” joke. That plus a couple of attacks between the two has led them to this match, which I’m sure Cesaro will win. That belt is being saved for the new and improved Jack Swagger somewhere down the line, so there’s no way Truth is taking it.
I was more interested in the classic Survivor Series tag-match before Mr. McMahon screwed everything up. Team Foley vs Team Punk was really interesting. Unfortunately now we have Team Foley versus Team Ziggler for no apparent reason. Foley’s stuck in that match with zero reason on his side. He has no beef with Ziggler or anyone on Ziggler’s team, but for some reason he has this need to encourage a team whose sole purpose is to beat everyone on the opposition into a mess, which makes the whole match redundant. To make matters worse Foley isn’t even paying attention to Ziggler. He’s more interested in coming out to Punk’s segments and yelling at him than he is at trying to even pretend he’s threatened by Ziggler’s allies. Foley just doesn’t give a sh*t, and it shows.
I think it’s safe to say that the match between Big Show and Sheamus will be a repetition of their match at Hell In A Cell. I like Sheamus, and I think Big Show deserves to have nice things, but their feud is really boring. Don’t even try to be the wrestling purist and explain why it isn’t, because it is. William Regal is caught in the middle of all this for some strange reason. Also strange is the fact that Regal has no defense mechanism. He just gets beat-up by people on a weekly basis and if you pay attention, you’ll notice he doesn’t do anything to defend himself. He just takes it all in like it’s some sort of cruel punishment. This obviously angers Sheamus, who tries to rescue his English buddy all the time, but almost always fails to be around when Regal needs him the most.
And that’s that. I’m hoping Survivor Series turns out better than expected, because right now I’m not expecting much. And hopefully Punk retains the championship to reach a staggering 1-year run! Because frankly, I want to see CM Punk go one-on-one with The Great One. I don’t want to see another Rock-Cena feud and I can’t see anything good happening between Rock and Ryback.
